My Pothos Plant Pothos House Plant (A Plant by Any Other Name) Hi Plant People! While there really are NOT very many different types of Pothos plants, there does seem to be quite a few different names given to this particularly popular houseplant. Let's see...I call it a ' Pothos' , its botanical name is Epipremnum aureum, some call it a Scindapsus aureus and I know that in some areas of the world, Pothos are called the ' Devil's Ivy' . I am curious to know why you would call this innocent looking plant ' Devil's Ivy' . Anyone know? My understanding is that this name is most often used in #Britain.
